Frequently Answered Questions

What exactly is the 40 Days of Purpose Campaign?
The 40 Days of Purpose Campaign is a spiritual growth campaign that explores God’s five purposes for every person’s life and answering the question, "What on earth am I here for?"
Who is the 40 Days of Purpose for?
The Campaign is for every person in our church, and it uses the power of alignment at three levels to help us put these purposes into practice:

Individual Level: Daily read short chapters from The Purpose Driven Life. Memorize one verse a week that gives a firm scriptural basis to the weekís theme.

Group Level: Study a special Purpose-Driven Life curriculum in small groups. This study would be great to invite your unchurched friends to, because it answers lifeís most basic question, “What on earth am I here for?”

Congregation Level: Hear a series of seven sermons on the purposes of life, as well as participate in four church-wide events designed to launch people into incorporating the purposes into their lives.

What kinds of special events are planned?
Kick-off on April 29 gives an introductory message that gives a sneak peek at the excitement to come as the five purposes unfold.

Celebration Sunday is the culminating event of the Campaign, which is a party where we share with each other and celebrate all God has done in our midst over the past 40 days.

How much does the book cost?
The suggested donation for a copy of The Purpose Driven Life is $7.

When do I begin reading The Purpose Driven Life?
May 1 is the day to start reading, following the kick-off event and sermon.
Where and when will the small groups meet?
Small group leaders will decide to meet either in a “host home” near you or at CCOJ at a time that is convenient for the members of the group. A complete list of leaders and meeting places is available at CCOJ.
Will the 40 Days Small Groups continue after the 40 Days' campaign finishes?
This is being left up to the individual groups.
What comes after 40 Days of Purpose?
Several options are being considered. We want to tailor it to the needs of those that are involved.
Will my children be participating in 40 Days of Purpose?
No, but our wonderful children's programs will continue as usual.
